The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announces The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announces on September 17, 2025, detectives with the N.V.S.U./Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop at the entrance of Food Lion off Fayetteville Road for a registration violation. During the traffic stop marijuana was observed in plain view. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Mr. Llyod Junior Miller. There were two other passengers in the car identified as Mr. Dexter Simmons, Jr. and Mr. Lee Michael Lovell. All occupants of the vehicle were removed so that a probable cause search could be conducted. During a search of the car, detectives located 73 grams of suspected methamphetamine and MDMA, 27 grams of suspected cocaine, 18 grams of suspected fentanyl, 122 grams of marijuana, and three firearms. During the investigation it was also learned that all three suspects were convicted felons. Mr. Miller, Mr. Simmons, and Mr. Lovell were all placed under arrest and transported to the Hoke County Detention Center.
All subjects were charged at the Hoke County Detention Center with trafficking a schedule I-controlled substance by possession and transportation, trafficking schedule II-controlled substance by possession and transportation, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, possession of firearm by convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Miller received an additional felony charge of maintain a vehicle for the sell/delivery of controlled substances.
All subjects were taken before the magistrate and given a $500,000.00 secured bond and first appearance court date.
