The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announces on June 10, 2025, the Narcotic Vice Suppression Unit (NVSU), closed out a long-term investigation of suspected cocaine being sold by Mrs. Lanette Wall Hobson. During the investigation, detectives knew Mrs. Hobson had a revoked driver’s license but would drive her vehicle for both personal and nefarious reasons. Through physical and electronic surveillance enough probable cause was developed to conduct an interdiction stop on Mrs. Hobson while on Mockingbird Hill Road. Mrs. Hobson did not stop for law enforcement until reaching the 100 block of Seagull Drive, Raeford, NC. During the traffic stop, HCSO canine Ghost was utilized and gave a positive alert on the vehicle. During a vehicle search, NVSU detectives located suspected “crack” cocaine, oxycodone, a digital scale, and a loaded .38 caliber revolver under the driver seat. During a search of Mrs. Hobson, detectives located additional “crack” cocaine, suspected fentanyl, and marijuana on her persons. Mrs. Hobson was placed under arrest and transported to the Hoke County Jail.
At the jail, Mrs. Hobson was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule I-controlled substance, possession with intent to sell deliver schedule II-controlled substance, maintain a vehicle for sell/delivery of a controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule II-controlled substance, carry concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license revoked. Due to pre-existing medical conditions, Mrs. Hobson was held only on a $3,000.00 secured bond.
