Raeford, N.C. – The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 2:56am deputies responded to the 2200 block of Athens Road in reference to suspicious activity. While Deputies were enroute to Athens Road, the caller advised Hoke County Communications Center (911) dispatcher they were able to see three males in the area. Caller stated that they heard a vehicle alarm going off and it appeared the males were using the flashlights from their cell phones to look inside vehicles. When Deputies arrived on scene, they located vehicle #1 that had been broken into. While Deputies were canvassing the surrounding areas Deputies recovered vehicle #2 was stolen. At 5:43 am, another call came into the Hoke County Communications Center (911) that the three males from earlier were back breaking into the same vehicle as before. Deputies canvassed the area again locating two male juveniles in the Hoke Landing shopping center. The third juvenile was not located but later identified. Hoke County Detectives were contacted and arrived shortly after. The juveniles were transported to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office. Juvenile Justice was contacted and petitions were served.
The two juvenile’s parents/guardians were contacted and present during investigation. Both juveniles were all charged with Breaking/Entering of MV (4 felony counts), Possession of Stolen Vehicle (1 felony count), Larceny of MV (1 felony count), Possession of Burglary tool (1 felony count), Conspiracy of Breaking/Entering (4 misdemeanor counts), and providing false information to LEO (1 misdemeanor count). All information was reported to Juvenile Justice.
Juvenile Justice determined that the juveniles were not violent offenders and released them to their parents. Juvenile Justice set a court date for an upcoming court appearance on December 8, 2025, which both parents/guardians signed advising they would ensure the juveniles would be at the court hearing.
The investigation is on-going at this time. There may be more victims, along with more suspects and charges to be filed at a later date.
