The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday, July 23, 2024, that members of the Interdiction and Traffic Unit were performing traffic enforcement, in the Davis Bridge area. Interdiction and Traffic Unit observed a Cadillac SUV with a fictitious registration. A traffic stop was performed, and the driver was identified as Mr. William Gibson. Mr. Gibson was also found to be driving, and his license was revoked. During the course of the traffic stop, it was discovered that suspected cocaine was inside the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle located narcotic paraphernalia, an open container of an alcoholic beverage, and over 56 grams of suspected cocaine.
Mr. Gibson was arrested and charged with Trafficking in cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Maintaining a Vehicle and given a $15,000.00 secured bond by the magistrate. Mr. Gibson was also given a citation for Driving with a Revoked License, displaying Fictious registration, and an Open Container of Alcohol in the Passenger Area of a Vehicle.
