The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced that on Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 4:33 a.m., the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Cape Fear-Main that a subject was getting medical treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim told staff the shooting happened in Raeford. Detectives responded to the hospital and spoke with the victim. It is unknown where the shooting occurred. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
