The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday, December 16, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM Deputies responded to 4545 Fayetteville Road, Walmart, in reference to an attempted kidnapping of a juvenile. A mother and her child were in the parking lot when a male wearing dark clothing attempted to reach inside of the vehicle where the child was. The mother of the juvenile was able to stop the male from getting to her child and they left the area. There were no reported injuries.
Detectives were contacted and responded to the scene for further investigation. The investigation is still ongoing.
