The Traffic Unit's responsibility is to make Hoke County's roadways safer by reducing traffic accidents. The officers utilize training and strategies to enforce traffic laws, raise public awareness of the need to drive safely, and apprehend aggressive drivers.

The unit patrols throughout the county of Hoke with each deputy having an assigned area of responsibility. Deputies, through their expertise, assist in developing enforcement plans, with the end result being a reduction in traffic accidents. They use state-of-the-art radar and laser speed measuring technology, unmarked police cars, and other techniques to enforce speed limits, detect aggressive drivers, and enforce traffic laws on the streets of Hoke County.
