Court House Security and Transportation Division

The Courthouse Security and Transport Division of the Hoke County Sheriff's Office provides a safe environment for judges, courthouse staff, and visitors of the Hoke County Courthouse. The Hoke County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the security of the courthouse, protecting the integrity of court procedures, and ensuring the rights of all individuals involved in the judicial process. In addition, the deputies serving at the courthouse provide a deterrence to those who would disrupt, disgrace, or act violently during court proceedings or toward individuals attempting to conduct business at the courthouse.

The Courthouse Security and Transport Unit is also charged with transporting people under the jurisdiction of the county and state, including inmates bound for hearings in other courthouses, inmates transported to other correctional facilities, and mental health patients transported to court hearings or to treatment facilities. In addition, the unit serves court-ordered summonses and completes writ transports (court-ordered appearances for prisoners held at Department of Corrections facilities).
