Meetings
Meetings of the Board of Social Services are held the last Monday of each month, unless otherwise specified. Meetings are held at 4:00 p.m. in The Commissioner's Room of the Pratt Building, located at 227 N. Main Street in Raeford.
All meetings of the Board of Social Services are open to the public.

Members
Board Members must be appointed. Two Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, two Members are appointed by the Social Services Commission and one Member is appointed by the Board of Social Services.
Board Members can only serve two consecutive three-year terms. However, the County Commissioner serving on the Board is not limited to two consecutive three-year terms.

Responsibilities
Every county shall have a board of social services or a consolidated human services board created pursuant to G.S. 153A-77(b) which shall establish county policies for the programs established by G.S. 108A in conformity with the rules and regulations of the Social Services Commission and under the supervision of the Department of Health and Human Services. Provided, however, county policies for the program of medical assistance shall be established in conformity with the rules and regulations of the Department of Health and Human Services.
