The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office announces on June 13, 2025, the Narcotics/Vice Suppression Unit (NVSU) served a narcotic search warrant, with the assistance of Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team, in the 200 block of Jewel Drive. The search warrant was obtained after a long-term investigation of suspected cocaine and marijuana being sold by Joseph Dwayne Campbell. During the investigation, the NVSU learned Mr. Campbell frequently carries a firearm and is a convicted felon. During a search of the residence detectives located marijuana, suspected cocaine, and assorted items of paraphernalia. There was also evidence of cocaine being processed into “crack” cocaine.
Mr. Campbell was not at the residence when the search warrant was served. There are currently active arrest warrants for Mr. Joseph Dwayne Campbell. Mr. Campbell is charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule-II controlled substance, possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, maintain a dwelling for the sell/delivery of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On June 17, 2025, Joseph Dwayne Campbell turned himself in at the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Campbell was transported to the Hoke County Jail where arrest warrants were served, and Mr. Campbell was taken before the magistrate. Mr. Campbell received a first appearance court date and $1,500 unsecured bond.
