Effective July 1, 2017
Hoke County will enforce Public Law 111-97, cited as the Military Spouses Residency Relief Act, amended Service Members Civil Relief Act to guarantee the equity of spouses of military personnel with regard to matters of residency.
Beginning July 1, 2017 spouses of military personnel will need to provide proof of domicile that coincides with the LES being provided for relief of motor vehicle property taxes.
To obtain additional information and to apply for the tax relief under the Military Spouses Residency Relief Act please click on the link below. The completed application can be emailed to the Tax Collector or faxed to 910-875-9222. Please allowed for up to 24 hours to process the exemption.
