During odd-numbered years, the City of Raeford's elections are held to elect governing officials (mayor and city council members).
Although the County Board of Elections conducts the City of Raeford's election, only residents that live within the city limits of Raeford are eligible to vote in a municipal election. These voters must have lived in the city limits for at least 30 days before Election Day to be eligible to vote.
In North Carolina, the voter registration deadline is 25 days before Election Day. The Voter Registration Deadline for the Municipal Election is October 13, 2023. Any voter registration applications, must be received by the Board of Elections Office no later than close of business day. View the Voter Registration Tab for details on how to register.
Current Status: PHOTO ID IS NOT REQUIRED
A North Carolina Superior Court has permanently enjoined the law requiring photo ID for voting. Following a trial in April 2021, a three-judge panel in the Holmes v. Moore case concluded that the voter photo ID law violated the North Carolina Constitution. The court's decision, which was issued on September 17, 2021, means that the voter is not REQUIRED to show photo ID in elections in North Carolina.
Early Voting locations and dates are TBD by the County Board of Elections.
Sample Ballots will be posted here once they become available.
