What is a Municipal Election?
During odd-numbered years, the City of Raeford's elections are held to elect governing officials (mayor and city council members).
Who Can Vote in the Municipal Election?
Although the County Board of Elections conducts the City of Raeford's election, only residents that live within the city limits of Raeford are eligible to vote in a municipal election. These voters must have lived in the city limits for at least 30 days before Election Day to be eligible to vote.
Voter Registration
In North Carolina, the voter registration deadline is 25 days before Election Day. The Voter Registration Deadline for the Municipal Election is October 13, 2023. Any voter registration applications, must be received by the Board of Elections Office no later than close of business day. View the Voter Registration Tab for details on how to register.
Voter ID
Current Status: PHOTO ID WILL BE REQUIRED TO VOTE. See Notice for more details.
Early Voting in Hoke County
The City of Raeford will have one Early Voting location at the Hoke County Board of Elections. The One-Stop Early Voting Period is October 19, 2023 - November 4, 2023. Early Voting Hours are Monday - Friday 8am- 6pm and Saturday, November 4, 8am - 3pm. There will not be any voting on Sundays for the Municipal Election.
