NOTICE OF FEE MORATORIUM

NOTICE OF FEE MORATORIUM

The State of North Carolina approved the 2018 Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Act. The act placed a moratorium on building permit, inspection, and certificate of occupancy fees for any project related to Hurricane Florence damage.

The fee moratorium applies to projects associated with permits, inspections, or certificates of occupancy for any commercial or residential projects involving construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, movement to another site, removal, or demolition of manufactured homes, buildings, dwellings or other structures damaged as a direct result of Hurricane Florence.
The fee moratorium applies only to situations directly related to damage from Hurricane Florence.

The moratorium is retroactive to September 13, 2018 and lasts until December 31, 2018. If you have already paid for a permit related to Hurricane Florence on or after September 13, 2018 you are entitled to a refund of that fee.

If you have any questions please contact the Hoke County Planning Department or Building Inspections Department at (910) 875-8407 or stop by the offices at 423 E. Central Avenue, Raeford.
